Walnut cake with poppy seeds is a honey cake with custard cream inside, poppy seed sponge cake and a caramel-nut layer. An incredibly tasty cake that melts in your mouth.

Walnut cake with poppy seeds will be perfect for the upcoming holidays, but also for various occasions and celebrations.

The dough requires a bit of preparation, but the work on it can be divided into several days.

The older the honey layers, the better. They are quite hard right after baking, but over time they soften and literally melt in your mouth. They won’t harm them even if they stay for 2-3 days.

The poppy seed sponge cake is as light as a cloud and very fluffy. In between, we add custard cream, which combines the layers nicely.

I added a caramel layer with embedded walnuts on top. After cooling, it creates a crispy and super sweet layer.

Walnut cake with poppy seeds is a cake that does not need to be advertised – it is simply very good. The combination of several flavors and layers gives an amazing effect.

INGREDIENTS FOR HONEY CAKE:

3 cups of cake flour
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
150 g butter or margarine
2/3 cup of sugar
3 tablespoons of honey
2 eggs
